사랑하며 존경하는 우리 맥클린한국학교 가족여러분, 참으로 힘들고 어려운 시기에 모두들 안녕하시기를 바랍니다. 전 세계 119개국의 코로나 바이러스19 사태가 조속한 시일 안에 상황이 나아질것이라는 기대와는 달리 현재 미국에서는 엄청난 기세로 퍼지며 사망자가 생기는 위험 수위에 처하게 되면서 우리 지역의 상황도 급속도로 악화되어지고 있습니다. 3월 23일(월)에 버지니아 주는 전체 공립학교를 대상으로 6월까지 예정된 봄 학기 수업에 대한 전면 휴교조치를 내렸음과 아울러 한국학교 학생들 중 코로나 바이러스 감염자가 나왔다는 보고는 없으나, 25일에 재미한국학교 워싱턴지역협의회(WAKS, 회장: 김명희)도 "코로나 바이러스로 인한 봄 학기 휴교"를 발표했습니다. 따라서 맥클린한국학교도 지난 번 3/14일 에서 3/28 일까지 휴교 그리고 4월 4일에 다시 수업을 시작 한다"는 공지를 했지만, 우리 학생들은 물론 지역사회에 바이러스의 전파를 예방하기위한 , 휴교 외에 다른 선택의 여지가 없음에 봄학기를 전면 휴교조치(조기 종강)를 하게되었음을 알림과 동시에 양지하여 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 봄 학기 휴교로 인한 크레딧으로 2020년 가을학기 수업료는 80%를 활인된 나머지 20%만 수업료로 받습니다. 한번도 경험해 보지 못했던 어렵고 힘든 이 시기에 코로나19 사태도 지혜롭게 극복 하시고 "가을 학기"에 우리 아이들과 학부모님들을 강건한 모습으로 만나 뵙게 되기를 기대하며, 다가올 가을학기를 위해 맥클린 한국학교 교사진들은 더욱 더 열심히 준비하고 노력할 것을 약속드립니다 . 속히 코로나 바이러스가 사라지고 한국학교에서 학생들이 공부하는 모습과 목소리를 듣게 되기를 기도드리며, 교장 이은애드림 *문의: 571-235-8997(이은애), 703-790-9289( 이영숙) *함께 하여주심에 깊이 감사드립니다. ---------------------------- Dear Parents of McLean Korean Academy, I hope everyone is doing well during these challenging and stressful times. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, we are all confronted with the difficult situation in our daily lives. As you know, the Coronavirus is rapidly spreading in VA as well as in Fairfax county, and the United States has surpassed Italy now in total number of confirmed COVID 19 patients as well as the death toll. As you know, the Virginia state government has announced the public school closure through June. Additionally NAKS-Washington Association for Korean schools also canceled upcoming classes and events for the semester. Although there are no reported cases of Coronavirus connected to any of our Korean schools in the area at this time, we decided to close our school for the rest of the spring semester. With regards to the COVID 19 responses, our school has been following guidance and directives coming from the Virginia and/or Fairfax County Departments of Health, as well as direction from the State Education Department, the CDC, the Governor, or other levels of higher office. We will continue to monitor this situation closely, and will act as appropriate. Regarding the tuition you’ve already paid, you will receive credit for the next semester. When you register for the fall semester in 2020, you will pay only 20% of total tuition. Together with your help and patience, we will successfully navigate this matter. *The number of known coronavirus cases in the District, Maryland and Virginia stood at 3,411 on Wednesday morning, with 1,661 cases in Maryland, 1,251 in Virginia and 499 in the District. The total of virus-driven deaths was 31 in Virginia, 23 in Maryland and 9 in the District, for a total of 63 fatalities in the region.
